The white town walls are easy to spot above the verdant olive groves covering the sides of Monte Serano, upon which slopes this castle was built in 950 A.D. by Rovero di Champeaux. Outside the town walls, you can see the Convento dei Santi Giovanni Battista e Pietro, where the Clerici Regulares Sancti Paul, or Barnabite Fathers, live. The Fathers are dedicated to creating a place of prayer—an oasis to commune with the Lord in deep spirituality and brotherhood—and the convent is a moving and silent spot. They offer hospitality to those who wish to experience a period of fraternity, reflection, and contemplation and welcome guests for retreat, fasting, meditation, and prayer.
